![]() Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Standard $99.99 I have had Dragon NaturallySpeaking version 10 for about a week now, and I must confess, I am pretty amazed by its ability. I do agree with other reviews in that you have to know the specifications of your computer prior to purchasing, but if you are certain that you have all of the requirements that are listed on the box, you should be fine to use the software. I should also note that I did not use the included headphones, rather I bought a Logitech premium notebook headset, and have used it successfully since I began. Everything seems to work well with Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10, I've taken a couple of the training exercises so it can better recognize my voice, and other than being time consuming, they are well worth the time invested. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who does not like typing, or who has struggled typing because of a physical inability. I have used the software to write this review, and I have made most corrections and modifications to this message without using the keyboard. I think it is also worth noting, that I have a relatively strong southern accent, but Dragon NaturallySpeaking seems to work around my accent relatively well (I think it's the training). All in all, I think that this is a good buy, if you can find it for less than $60. ![]() IBM ViaVoice QuickTorial : Retail version $24.50 Designed for beginning users of IBM ViaVoice, this self-paced, instructional guide provides learners with all the instruction necessary to become proficient in the use of this popular speech recognition software. ![]() Olympus DS-320 Digital Voice Recorder $199.99 Excellent voice quality on this digital recorder. Saving files onto your PC is a snap with the serial or USB cables. Use the software that comes with it to edit the recordings and then save them to WAV files that can be played on any system. The data compression is excellent -- the sound files are small and can be emailed or put onto floppy disk. |
