Are you into Sherlock Holmes? Do you like a little drama and comedy in your mysteries? Throw in spunky outcast blonde and you've got the basic ingredients for this show. Veronica Mars is the outcast in a high school of have and have nots. Her father, the shamed sherif of Neptune, is a private eye and has taught his daughter everything he knows. She uses this knowledge in the first season to solve the murder of her best friend, Lily Kane, all the way to find a rapist in the third season.

Each episode has it's own mini mystery with the season as a whole having an over arcing one. You can watch just one and get it and not be confused if you hadn't seen the previous ones.

In the background there is also stories of romance and betrayal. From having to deal with the haves who hate her and her father, to the local biker gang, Veronica has a complicated social life to say the least.

All in all this is a must see show. I would highly suggest it for anyone.

I ordered this item and received 2 copies of Disc 3 and was completely missing Discs 1 & 2. What use is a series when I'm missing 2 thirds of it?!?!?!

Really bad quality assurance. Such a shame. Maybe try checking that the item contains what it should before sending.

So, this is the last season for Veronica Mars and we follow her from High School to College. OK so it's not Stanford as she'd always planned, in fact she's still in Neptune CA. Poor girl just can't seem to escape her past. After the high drama of Season 2 she just wants to settle in to her new life, but guess what? College has more murky dealings that just keep getting in the way.
She still has the ever-reliable "Wallace" for help, although his role as side-kick becomes less important as we are introduced to an array of new characters for Veronica to exploit, as she crusades against campus rapists and murderers. Of particular note is "Mac" played by Tina Marjorino, a cross between Buffy's "straight" Willow and Droopy (!).
Romance comes in the form of "Logan" and others, and we learn more about the 09-ers families. Unfinished business from Season 2 casts its own shadows, and Veronica does not come through unscathed.
I got a lot of fun from this series. The writing, the actors' comfort with their roles and the clever use of limited funds to give us a big budget feel, produced an excellent example of US television at its best. So it is a pity that the network insisted that the producers change the format for the last half-dozen or so episodes. By forcing the writers to round up long-running stories in a rush, to allow the episodes to be shown as stand-alone ones as their slots were moved around or postponed in America, they practically guaranteed the show's premature demise.
Not to be defeated by the network's negativity, creater Rob Thomas raised the funds for a pilot for Season 4. The DVD box-set includes this as one of the many bonus features, and I for one would like to know what happened next. So, if you won the Euromillions Lottery this week, and fancy getting into production ... ?
