![]() Precalculus: Enhanced with Graphing Utilities (5th Edition) $164.00 The precalculus book I ordered arrived in excellent condition. It was in very condition as reported in the description of the book. This revision is an excellent alternative to the 5th edition which is much more expensive. I compared thr two versions and found that revision 5 has been rearranged somewhat and additional chapter tests have been added. I use the book as a tutor supplement and it is excellent for this purpose. ![]() Bessey D-BKWH Quick-Change Folding Utility Knife - Wood Grain Handle $16.88 When I first bought this knife, I was extremely pleased with the solid build quality. There was nothing bad to say about the unit, until I dropped it on concrete one day. Granted, this isn't a manufacturer defect, it's just a problem I caused, but the edge that landed on the concrete became rough and, when wearing the knife on my belt, the rough edge would rub against my pants and start tearing a hole into them. I've since changed to a Bessey knife with a PVC handle. Same great build quality, but none of the rough edges from inevitable abuse. ![]() Electric Power Industry in Nontechnical Language $69.00 Unfortunately, the book starts off with too many simple editing errors and that made me fearful of the accuracy of the remaining text. I returned the book. For example, page 4 (this is the second page of the book after the preface) refers to year 2003 utility expense data listed in a table on the opposite page. However, the table has no data for 2003. The author also confuses millions of dollars with billions of dollars when walking the reader through major utility expenses in this section of the book. That's a big editing oversight in the initial pages. I think this could be a very useful book for someone like myself trying to get an understanding of the electric power industry, but it needs tightening up. |
