![]() The Traveler $14.98 Deep in the woods of Pennsylvania, a terrible evil is about to be unleashed. An old, ramshackle house with a violent past. Abandoned. Forgotten. Seven people will come to this house. Two are here by accident. The rest are here for thrills. They will all come face to face with a force darker and more horrifying than their worst nightmares. A being of incredible power and unspeakable malice. A being known only as The Traveler. ![]() The Traveler $4.55 This book is pretty good, but it's potential is not built on or lived up too. The second book is even weaker and taints the first. ![]() The Dark River (Fourth Realm, Bk. 2) $7.99 This is a wonderful follow up to the first book (The Traveler) fast-paced and intriguing for the same reasons the first book was. Time has passed since the end of the first book, but you are quickly oriented (although I'm not sure if this would be as much fun to read if you had not read the Traveler). My one disappointment was the non-ending, which clearly is meant to pull us toward the next book, but too much is left hanging. Fortunately the next book is soon to be released in hard copy. ![]() The Golden City: A Novel (Fourth Realm Trilogy) $25.95 After waiting with bated breath and counting the days until its release, I must say that I was sorely disappointed at the overall story. I found myself waiting for something to happen and when nothing did, I thought perhaps I'd missed it and went back to double check that I had actually read everything. Much to my surprise, I had not missed anything. What began as a very promising read, sadly became a lackluster disappointment that ended in a pathetic little whimper. If the author is adamant about not writing any more stories in this series, he is well within his right to do so. However, should Mr. Twelve Hawks write any more series or continue with this one (after much thought), I have to admit that I will approach the stories with just a bit of trepidation. While 'The Traveler' and 'Dark River' captured and held my attention completely from beginning to end, 'Golden City' proved to be a struggle to complete. |
