![]() Face of Evil $6.99 "Face of Evil" is an engaging thriller that showcases the talent of Tracey Gold, who portrays a seriously disturbed amoral young woman who will do anything to get what she wants, at the expense of others' lives. Gold plays Darcy Palmer, a young woman engaged to be married to a reformed drunk [whom she has been dating for six months]. On the eve of her wedding, Darcy flees, taking with her her precious art pieces, and a very expensive diamond ring. At the airport, Darcy realises she doesn't have enough money to get to NY and targets a young woman, killing her in a ruthless manner just so she can get some money and assumes the girl's identity, taking the girl's student position at a prestigious private college. Darcy also meets Jeanelle Polk [Shawnee Smith] her rather shy roommate who is also very wealthy. Soon enough, Darcy targets Jeanelle's wealthy dad, Russell [Perry King] who finds himself slowly attracted to Darcy and promptly seduces him. The movie may not tread any new waters here but the strong performances by the cast elevate it above an average thriller. Gold is utterly credible as the mercenary and ruthless psychopath. King and Smith deliver credible performances as well. The pacing of the plot is well-done, engaging the viewer's attention and keeping one on tenterhooks throughout the movie. I'd recommend this to those who like suspenseful thrillers. ![]() The Willies $2.99 What could be more innocent than 3 boys camping in the backyard and telling scary stories? This movie is about 3 guys who go camping one night and decide to tell scary stories. Sean Astin, who plays a friendly jock named Michael and his 2 younger cousins, Kyle and Josh. Also dont miss the cameo by Kirk Cameron talking to Gordy through the TV. lol. This movie also has the big kid who acted in the Nick show 'Salute your Shorts' He plays a lispy weirdo named Gordy whos obsessed with flies, he steals some kind of secret manure from a local farmer and then uses it on his flies- big mistake. Theres also a story about a kid who gets bullied, his teacher, 'Mrs. Titmarsh' & a janitor who turns into some kind of mutant/monster that lives in the bathroom of a middle school. Also a collection of short stories, sort of urban legends, a poodle in a microwave, rats in fried chicken & a man who dies during a haunted house ride. This movie is corny, its stupid at times, but its funny. If you love hilarious B movies this ones for you. If you like campy, if you like tongue-in-cheek then get it. Just put it in and enjoy it for what it is. 3.5 Stars. ![]() Room to Grow: An Appetite for Life $12.00 i loved traceys book. i felt she was friendly in her approach, truthful in the grips that anorexia and any eating disorder has, and she really is a "real" person. what i liked most about this book, is that she spent alot of time talking about her childhood, how it was in the show-biz, having siblings acting as well. she told us about her "real" father leaving, her new and wonderful dad, her moms struggles with a eating disorder and it all fell into place. ive always liked tracey, but definatly like and admire her much more after this. alot of people feel that tracey put down treatment centers, or therapy in the book.. i disagree. she simply stated that it wasnt for her, and finding the right doctor took time. her statement like "ensure is a nutritional drink with a million calories in it" in MY mind, was NOT at ALL innapropriate. it is true! she was stating that ensure was used as a threat in these centers, and she is absolutly true in saying that. the way she put things... admitting that she STILL hears "FAT" when someone says she looks good, is down right HONEST. the fact that she openly admits that those anorexic thoughts will forever be with her, is brave and i admire that. she is recovered, however she knows that this disease stays with you always. ive struggled with a eating disorder for a long time now, and i really liked this book. i hope that when i actually recover i can look at traceys strength and use this book as a guide. in no way what-so-ever is it a triggering book. i highly suggest this book... you wont be dissapointed |
