![]() Tomb Raider: Underworld $19.99 The graphics for this game are better than the previous generation as expected, the game play is smoother and climbing much easier than before. I was pleasantly surprised by this game. ![]() Tomb Raider: Underworld $19.99 This game is totally amazing! I cannot believe that i only got it for ten dollars! (plus about five shipping and handling) The game quality is very good even on the lowest settings. I am a very very very very very very very please customer. :) ![]() Tomb Raider Anniversary $19.99 Lara Croft has been the most played character in gaming history. A record like Wilt Chamberlain scoring a hundred points in an NBA game, Lara may never be surpassed either. The two TRs that were the most similar in play and total gaming were #2 & #3. I still like their look on PC even today. #1's graphics were pixelated, but we loved it all the same. #4 & #5 are good too. Now, TR:AOD(1st PS2 game), everyone complains about, but everyone that slammed it, finished it, and maybe even played it again. No one ever says that they played the first level and quit or threw the game away, which I've done before(Doom3's one dimensional play). Tomb Raider will always be the thinking person's game, not the fast twitch kill 50 monsters in-a-row type of game. TR:AOD was a very good game with a not very good control scheme. I really liked the colorful graphics compared to the new incarnations of muted colors in Legend, Anniv., and Underworld. Another game that everyone complains about is Rez Evil4(pc), but is one best playing games around. TR Legend is the best of the new bunch, with few glitches and good play. Anniversary is good too, but it has some sections for me that my non-teenage hands can't move fast enough to maneuver. Spinning blades on walls and Centaurs are killing me from finishing that one, and I've been able to finish every TR game 'cept that one. PC version proved easier than the sloppy joystick of PS2. Why have we gotten nine TRs so far? Because we love to play the darn thing over and over again. Personally I'd like to see a combo of TR:AOD and the last three, with a few items from the oldies. OK, back to TR:Anniv., if you haven't played any TR games to date, don't play this one yet. Start with one of the oldies 1-5. #1 is pixel-dated in todays standards. You always gain a greater appreciation for the newer games if you have played earlier incarnations. Try Legend or Underworld first also. I just think this TR version is very very technical, and requires some very good gaming skills to get by the Centaurs and some of the wall jumping, climbing, with spinning and slashing blades, all with a nasty time requirement for performance of these feats. Getting back to the Centaurs boss battle of Anniversary, I completed this with some challenge on PC, but find the PS2 controller almost to seem non-functional. It can't be me, right? I think Anniversary is excellent, but I've hit a wall. This game will test your gaming skills for sure, but not your shooting skills. Shooting in TR games is always a diversion to the true intent, being able to find your way through the maze of tunnels, cliffs, caverns, oceans, and buildings. ![]() Tomb Raider Anniversary $19.99 The only problem I had with the game was the camera. As you play the game the camera will be problematic at times when trying to get Lara to do some things, but, since most games I play have a have a camera that sometimes act like it's drunk on alcohol, I suggest that if you play it, just take your time when moving Lara around her enviornment. It will make figuring out the puzzles more better. Other than the camera issues, the game is excellent. The music and graphics are stellar, the platforming is great, and the puzzles you have to solve once you enter a room are a sight to behold, and get incredibly challenging as you progress through the game. The Legend of Zelda and Prince of Persia series have good platforming and puzzle challenges, but the past 3 Tomb Raider games makes the experience of platforming and solving puzzles look beautiful. A lot of work went into the look of the environments and puzzle challenges and Lara's character model. Great work graphicaly, and kudo's to the team who put the game together. So I had fun playing the game. Looking forward to playing more Tomb Raider Games. |
