I really liked the idea that the PUR filter filters out a much larger list of contaminants as compared with the Britta which only filters out three substances, LEAD not being one of them.(Note: PUR gets lead certification from another company, not NSF......stange) CONS: filters very slowly, poor manufacturing, there are small,white, hair like pieces on around this filter, some I could wipe off with my finger, I'm not sure what they are, but didn't want my kids ingesting it. Also, there was some loose plastic and the filter itself looks scratched in the light. This made me worry about the integrity of the unit as a whole and I phoned PUR (Procter and Gamble) and they were very helpful and would look into the problem. I landed up getting a refund from them, but I would really like to see a well manufactured product that filters a broad range of substances......... ..??????? |
