![]() Infinite Worlds of H.G. Wells $6.99 The movie was enjoyable, but it felt like the was more to be said when it ended. I guess that was to be expected in a TV series. The special effects were very good and the characters were believable. ![]() Time Travel in Einstein's Universe: The Physical Possibilities of Travel Through Time $14.95 Author Richard Gott does a pretty tremendous job distilling such a heady topic into terms largely understandable to those without a background in science, however you'll still find little freebies throughout this text; I can guarantee your mind will be stretched to the point of nervous laughter on more than one occasion. The argument explaining time travel to the future is straightforward enough, however time travel to the past is another matter! Gott offers numerous theories explaining how it may be possible, discussing popular conundrums such as the Grandmother Paradox along the way. Having read several books discussing Einsteinian physics over the years, I found Gott's explanations particularly easy to understand, an accomplishment which is no small feat given the complexity involved. The book concludes with various fascinating theories regarding time and the origins of the universe. This was by far my favorite part of the book, with some of the offered proposals being simply mind-boggling. All said, if you or your child is interested in the possibilities of time travel, I couldn't imagine a better book from which to begin your investigations. ![]() Mastering Time Travel: Voyages Through Time $22.99 I have never seen any book like this, and perhaps never will. At the beginning, I thought it is a fiction book, after turning page by page. I had just found out, this is a book actually teaching you how to do time travel yourself. As far as the Einstein, he could not figure it out how exactly time travel to occur and just knew it is possible. You will find the answers in this book, amazing work. Also author will have time travel courses in Manhattan around Oct or Nov in 2009, New York city. I cannot wait to attend these classes too. These could be once in our lifetime and like one of the Doctors wrote, "Very important knowledge to human kind, and this is how time travel is possible." ![]() The Time Cavern $12.95 When the heart of a father and the mind of a talented writer join forces to create a story that will hold the interest of an inquisitive son, other young people fortunate enough to read the book will benefit. In many books I have favorite sentences underlined. In THE TIME CAVERN by Todd Fonseca I've marked full passages. For example on page 56, the description of how each individual strand of silk on a corncob is pollinated to determine the color of each individual kernel of corn is educational, interesting, and entertaining. On page 106, the two main characters are in their school library to do an Internet Google search. Like many children, they wonder what Google means. So, they type into the search box, WHAT DOES GOOGLE MEAN? I'm not telling. Google it yourself, or read this book. Fonseca educates readers about interesting things while entertaining them. This book was clearly written with one intelligent boy in mind, the author's son. Fascinating that particular boy, and inspiring him to turn each page, was the goal. Fonseca is terrifically successful, he compels us all to keep turning the pages until the conclusion of this spectacular tale where what we hope will happen does, but with an unexpected twist. THE TIME CAVERN will stimulate and captivate the imagination of young readers, girls and boys alike. I urge parents and teachers to add this book to their libraries. |
