![]() Time Out Paris (Time Out Guides) $19.95 I like this guide, which is organised around the different areas of town. The restaurant suggestions are especially valid in my view. But this is not Michelin sophistication. It is a British guide afterall. Don't care so much about the hotels. There is also historial/background introductions. Where the book is weak is in somewhat off the beaten track attractions. I can also recommend Michelin's green Paris guide. That book is stronger on high culture, but certainly not the only domain of that guidebook. ![]() Time Out New York $99.45 Took advantage of the 8-issues-free offer and cancelled after 6. Have been trying to get my $19.99 back from them for the past 5 months. I have been on the phone with them having the same conversation so many times that I can't stand it anymore. Each time it's the same BS - "you didn't request a refund when you cancelled", " we'll put in for a check to be sent to you", "not sure whey the check hasn't been processed"... If only it was a publication worth all of this trouble. ![]() Time Out $7.99 It's impossible to buy this sacd in Spain (few of them are avalaible), but this version it's amazing. Not hybrid version. ![]() Time Out -50th Anniversary (2 CD/1 DVD Legacy Edition) $15.93 I'm a vinyl nut - I still listen to CDs but I find vinyl to be more satisfying in general. But this release has to be one of the best CD transfers I've heard in a long while. The original album on vinyl is outstanding, but this is so close that's it's hard to pick a winner. The drums on "Take Five" just jump out at you, and the sax sounds wonderful. The live show is worthwhile, and I really enjoyed the Brubeck interview. Neat stuff. I recommend this without reservations, even if you're a vinyl snob. :) |
