 Road to Perdition $18.98 Thomas Newman's score for "Road to Perdition" is nothing short of genius, as is the case with all of his scores. Even if you haven't seen the film, the music reaches into your soul and touches your heart. Newman is undeniably one of the most gifted composers working today.  American Beauty: Original Motion Picture Score $9.98 I am reviewing the DVD Movie itself. Not the soundtrack. An order was mixed up and one seller was gracious enough to accept return on the unwanted soundtrack. I was very please with the service including the price, the prompt delivery time and the excellent quality of the merchandise. I gave the seller 5 stars for a top quality review. Thanks and all the best, Dennis Chamberlain  Any Other Name - Original $0.99 This track, which I believe was also on the "American Beauty" soundtrack (I could be wrong), comes right from the heart of what I love most about Thomas Newman's work. "Any Other Name - Original" is gorgeous, haunting, melancholy, multi track music, with a distinct and disfunctional piano, which is sometimes in the lead and sometimes in the background, often, as it is here, it is both things on the same track. This track makes me feel what I sometimes feel when I am emotionally stunned. When I am trying to get my mind back in front of something significant that has just happened. As you can tell, it is difficult to put into words. But this track personifies what I look for in Thomas Newman's work. It occurs from time to time in his soundtracks for "Meet Joe Black," "The Shawshank Redemption," "American Beauty," and even "The Horse Whisperer." |
