![]() Best of the Monkees $18.98 A very comprehensive compilation of the tunes used in the show. Great pop songs by Boyce & Hart, and Neil Diamond are here. Also the elusive tune that played during the end credits [For Pete's Sake] is re-discovered. Mike Nesmiths skills as composer/musician are again brought to light. Even if you didn't care for the monkees ,the music stands the test of time quite well. OKD ![]() The Monkees - Our Favorite Episodes $14.95 I ordered this after my 11 year old daughter and I saw a Monkee's special on television. She had no idea that they had a TV show, and that I watched it every Saturday morning. Anyway, she thinks the DVD is AWESOME, and the Monkee's rock. I think the DVD is pretty good. Nice to see the guys as they are now, and hear their comments about the 4 episodes on the disc. Well worth the money if you are a fan of the Monkee's, or of campy 60's tv shows! ![]() The Monkees - Greatest Hits $13.98 Nowadays, the creation of "pseudo-groups" strictly for television entertainment is a heavily over-employed practice that usually ends up having been a bad idea. However, back in 1966, when The Monkees were created for their own show, this was one of the first such instances of this, and today it still remains one of the finest. Though not visionaries like The Beatles or The Beach Boys, the group did have one of THE feel-good hits of all time with their #1 "I'm A Believer," and this collection does a good job of showing that they were solid performers who could do a variety of material without sounding fake or insubstantial. ![]() The Monkees: Season 2 $79.95 The DVDs of Monkees shows were great! Watching Davy Jones singing and dancing to Daydream Believer made me feel like a lovesick 13 year old again! These are a must have for any true Monkees fan. |
