"The Girl Next Door" is a misleading title in a way. This book should be called "Neighbors, and Lots of Them." Because in no way, shape or form is this about one girl, or one relationship. It is populated by so many characters, it comes with a guide to them in the front of the book, so you can keep referring to it to keep everyone straight.

The device of intertwining many characters and their lives is handled in an average way by the author. I got the feeling while I wss reading that each character's plot points and storylines were written individually, like a collection of short stories. Then the whole thing was put together as a book.

I was also put off by the Brit speak. This is New York, and the author, who is apparently British, has an apparently unavoidable Brit bent while (or should I say whilst?) writing. We don't use nail varnish in the States, we use nail polish. And we don't refer to America as "the States." We don't say "eh?" at the end of sentences. The whole pace and style of the writing is British, which might have worked back in turn-of-the-century (the last one) literature, a la uppercrust Wharton, but not in 2009, Sex-and-the-City-expectant, women out for a good read whilst our nail varnish is drying, eh?

The characters didn't grab me and neither did this book.

Great great great movie. The lead actress Elisha Cuthbert is incredibly hot and the movie is full of laughs. I especially liked the porno director played by Timothy Olyphant. I'm a fan of his work in Deadwood where he plays a serious sherrif, so it was awesome to see him pull of this completely different role as a slimeball. This is one you will not regret adding to your collection.

I have an almost sad love affair with these three girls. One all of the cases through out the season theres pictures from scenes in the show, and as i watch all three discs i'm left wondering wheres halloween? wheres the house bunny? wheres everyone leaving. I turned to the internet to get a list of all the episodes and they left out 4 episodes!! I bought the disc from Amazon, and i don't know whose to blame but Disc two is ALWAYS bridgets and on the disc theres Kendra and on the home screen for the dvd theres a picture of Bridget and vice versa for disc three. I smell something fishy and i'm very upset about it and i kinda want my money back.
