The Eye 3
The Eye 3

The Eye 3 (sometimes marketed as The Eye 10) is drastically different in tone from the previous two films. It's a horror comedy about a group of bored teenagers who spend the summer trying to contact the other side. Though some of the ghost scenes are genuinely creepy, much of the slapstick comedy is purile. None of the characters from the previous films appear or are referenced in this one.

Fans of the first two Eye films should not expect to see a similar thriller when they purchase this video. If you are the type of horror fan who can see the humor in a breakdancing ghoul, and if you can forgive a few fart jokes, then you might enjoy The Eye 3.

I just watched this movie for the second time and I enjoyed it a lot more than I did the first time and now I can say that it's a very good movie!

Usually when I read a review for a scary movie, I want to know how scary it is, so that's what I'm gonna tell!

I'm definitely not someone who gets scared easily. I've seen over 1000 horror movies and the only ones that I find scary are The Eye and Shutter (both are asian and are about ghosts)! Movies like Ringu and Ju-On are also fairly scary, but not as scary as The Eye and Shutter. I have to say that, usually, before I watch a movie that is supposed to be scary, I put myself in the mood to be scared (I just love to be scared) and it worked really well with this movie! There are a lot of unexpected scenes in The Eye 2, the sound effects are really freaky, a lot of really weird stuff happens and there are a couple of scenes with a lot of tension! Most of the scary scenes made me jump only, but there are some that made me feel pretty damn uneasy! I don't think that there's anything scarier than a good ghost movie because no one knows if ghosts exist or not and the idea that maybe they exist is scary as hell!

Scarier than any American horror movies coming out these days for sure!

Note: This review was written in 2007. Before one of the scariest movies ever (Paranormal Activity) was released!

I believe that this film is highly under-appreciated. The story revolves around a young woman (Jessica Alba) who is blind. In an attempt to regain her eyesight that she lost as a child, Alba goes through with corneal transplant surgery. She is given the corneas of a woman who committed suicide after tormenting images haunting her night and day, turning the small Mexican village where she resided against her. I find the story to be quite compelling and the characters are very easy to relate to. The movie has some tense scenes in it, mainly at the hospital after the initial images begin to occur. Being one of Jessica Alba's biggest roles in a movie, I believe she did an excellent job of portraying the torment that she was going through. The lighting of the film and the camera techniques added to the overall ambiance that generated the feeling of tension when needed. The movie was not "scary" but was instead "suspenseful" and well developed, in my personal opinion. If you're a fan of Jessica Alba (like me) or of horror films, you really can't go wrong with adding The Eye to your collection, just don't expect it to make you sleep with the lights on.

Reminiscent of de Sade, this novel is written in a kind of telling-not-showing style, very unlike modern novels. However, the concepts and imagery within are fascinating, especially some of the more disturbing sexual acts. The novel--more of a novella in terms of size--is a bit ridiculous at times, but overall a curious and interesting read. Good for those bored with current erotica or in need of something to shock friends with.
