Warning: Take the fact that you cannot return this product seriously. There are few choices on the market for small tvs suitable for a kitchen so I thought this looked like a good buy under the circumstances. But when it arrived, it would not accept a DVD - simply spit it out after it was put in. Amazon won't take it back and Toshiba will only repair it - BUT you have to pay the shipping to their repair facility. I live under 100 miles from their repair facility, but it still cost $19.05 to ship it. Yes, Toshiba did repair it and yes, as they promised it was a short turnaround - I got it back in 8 days. Works fine now. Of course, I just got it back and I don't know how it will last over time. But buy this only if you're willing to pay the extra money.

I ordered this unit to attach to my HD TV to get the addtional channels that are offered on Time Warner Digital cable. I am not a novice when it comes to TV, audio or other electronic equipment in that I have 36 years experience with this kind of equipment. This unit took 2 hours to hook up - had it scan to find channels, it found 22 more channels than I have normally over the cable. But it won't pass them through to the TV. Each time, the response is: "You need to scan for channels." After 4 scans, I decided this is not worth the effort, and the unit must be broken. So, pack it up and return it to Amazon, right... after all, it is sold by Amazon, etc. etc.

Now I am told that THIS IS A NON-RETURNABLE ITEM.... remember that, THIS IS A NON-RETURNABLE ITEM.

SO, unless Amazon management is paying attention, it looks like I bought a two pound fishing weight. I don't even want to TRY to sell it on their web site, because I don't want to saddle any other sucker with this piece of junk.

Caution if you want to use this T V to connect to a DVD player. The A/V In port is not standard and no cable or anything is provided for it. So I went out and bought a $34.00 RCA to 1/8" stereo/Video mini plug (the composite port that is on the device) cable at radio shack. I got video, but no audio. Since 'Viore' was not listed on the package, I took the cable back to Radio Shack. I called Customer Service. They acknowleged that it is a non standard jack, but that Best Buy would stock it. Best buy has (2), one for $32.00 and one for $40.00 I bought the cheeper one. It still has no audio. If you patch the audio into the 'Audio in' jack, you will get audio. The audio is on the number 2 & 3 positions on the jack. Apparently it don't line up inside.
The other down side is the size of the pictures and Video that you will get from the USB and SD ports. Not full screen, but only 3" diagnal.
TV reception and Video from a DVD player is good, (with an audio patch cable) but an expensive way to go.
Like another reviewer said, Why not RCA jacks?
