Super Robot
 Super Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier $34.99 If you've played Super Robot Taisen OG and OG 2 then you're a bit familiar with the franchise. This is not like that because it's not an RTS. Endless Frontier is an RPG and you play the protagonist Haken, a Cowboy Bounty Hunter, who is partnered with Aschen, an android. They search a ship where they were found 20 years ago and discover a girl and from there what becomes a simple mission to take Kaguya (a princess from another world that is on a pilgrimage)back to her home to having to save all worlds from the Mild Keil crystals that have been messing up all worlds. I don't want to risk spoiling the game for you all, but it does have that SRT twist. The music is great and fans from the other installments of the Super Robot Taisen Franchise will recognize them and the references to the other games. The battle system involves attacking using combos that involve timing, once you get it down you'll be beating enemies quickly. There is voice acting, but it's in Japanese so all of you otaku out there will love it for that alone. This is a crossover game, so I won't spoil the characters for you, but there is a special feature that if you have Super Robot Taisen OG or OG 2 you can insert that in your DS when you start a new file on Endless Frontier. I don't own those games so you'll have to find out for yourselves. The only problem I have with the game is that the TRUE enemies you have to fight later on though they fit with the game aren't nearly as good as the others that could have been in it like the Shadow Mirrors. That and it seems like you get caught into a boss fight for everything, which though funny can get old. Still if you are a fan of the franchise or want a fun RPG to play, pick this one up.  Super Robot Taisen 2: Original Generation $29.99 If you play ogre battel march of black queen or final fantasy tactist or ogre tactis you love super robot wars taisen . A better vertion chess or game go. Each robot and pilot has there owen skill and the story line will take you away. I hope they would traslate all super robot wars vertion  Super Robot Monkey Foot Crusher Cruiser Otto Vehicle $9.99 The foot crusher vehicle is very true to the show. The mini Otto action figure fits nicely into it, but you have to position his arms, feet and tail just right. It's got a very cool green buzz-saw that comes out the front, that is very effective at "cutting down" the bad guys. It has two green missles that fit into launcher tubes on top, but they are not very durable. After a couple of weeks of normal use, it is somewhat difficult to lock them into place. It's not so hard that it kills the whole experience, though. The toy overall is fairly durable. The lid/top comes off so that it doesn't break if you over-extend it. Which happens often when you are playing with your five-year-old :) I highly recommend this toy. It was a huge hit Christmas morning. |
