![]() A Broken Life $9.98 I didn't care for this movie at all. In fact, I never finished watching it. Too much cussing and just plain boring. ![]() A Year In the Life of an ESL (English Second Language) Student: Idioms and Vocabulary You Can't Live Without $28.95 I've bought this book because I wanted to create more interesting lessons for my advanced students and found that introducing idioms would be a nice start. I really like the way the author approaches the new subject and think the exercises are effective when it comes to learning vocabulary, idioms, slangs and expressions. The discussion questions are well planned showing the students how the idioms learned are used in real-life conversations. It is an excellent tool for every advanced ESL teacher or student! ![]() The Student Prince (1952 Studio Cast) $9.98 I was excited about hearing this version of "The Student Prince", being a fan of both Robert Rounseville and his excellent interpretation of "The Tales of Hoffmann" in the great film of Powell and Pressburger, and Dorothy Kirsten, a stalwart of the old Met Opera. It was just O.K. Her voice did not seem right for the part and his was good throughout, but not in the same way as in his film. The whole thing seemed a bit thrown together. While it's worth hearing, I must say it's one of the few times the movie version superceded the studio version. |
