![]() Stranger Danger: The Reluctantly Written but Absolutely Necessary Book for Todays Boys And Girls! $12.99 This books (with accompnying CD) is clean and clear cut. It warns children of what could happen and how to always stay safe by "not going" with strangers or people other than your mom and dad. The music leaves a bit to be desired, but the kids (4 and 6) seemed to enjoy it. A good beginning book about strangers. We also own the Barenstien Bear's Strangers book, and the page with the mean looking strangers always frightened my kids. They also associated dangerous people with looking mean wich is NOT the case in real life. This Stranger Danger books makes a point to make the strangers look normal. Good place to start young kids. ![]() Strangers $24.98 This DVD has so many layers. The documentary is great and the live performances are excellent. Plus, within the documentary you can go to behind the scenes interviews, videos, and much more. ![]() Strangers $16.00 The book was great (cause no Koontz book can be anything other than great) but I didn't get caught up in the rest of the excitement as everybody else. This is in so many people "favorite Koontz books" list, but I'd have to put it about 1/2 way down for me. Looking at the size of it, I thought it'd be a lot like King's "The Stand" but it was only similar in length (well, the uncut version anyway). Here's how I rank the ones I've read so far: 1-Odd Thomas 2-Frankenstein 1 (a very very close second!) 3-Frankenstein 2 (a very very close third!) 4-Watchers (a very very close fourth!) 5-From The Corner Of His Eye 6-Lightning 7-Hideaway 8-Strangers 9-Velocity 10-Brother Odd 11-The Key To Midnight 12-Odd Hours 13-Forever Odd 14-The Taking It didn't have as many lovable characters as some of my other favs (watchers, odd Thomas, Frankenstein) so maybe that's what did it for me. It's one that you've gotta read though, don't skip it...and don't avoid reading it just because I'm not doing cartwheels over it; it may be your #1 favorite =) ![]() Are you a good stranger? $9.95 My child was 4 when I bought this book. My son never knows a stranger and I was always trying to figure out how to discuss "stranger danger" issues with him but had difficulty finding the right words even though I'm a therapist. I found this book and have recommended it it all of the mothers to whom I provide therapy. It addresses several situations that children may encounter and how to deal with them ie: strangers asking for help with a lost animal, strangers who know their name or claim to know their parents, bad strangers don't just wear black clothes like in the movies but may appear very nice, what to do if a stranger comes to the door, bad strangers may be people we know etc. It even tells kids what to do if someone tries to take them with them. My son now can now tell me what he should do in several potentially dangerous situations. Every person who is exposed to children (parents, teachers, therapists etc.) need this book to provide potentially life-saving information to children. |
