 Moleskine City Notebook Stockholm $17.95 So what is this item? Well, it is basically a structured notebook with a map and some basic travel tidbits that almost no one needs (like measurements and sizes). What i think I'd rather have (I wonder if moleskin is listening) is a great moleskin notebook like this one, where I can add a cover around it with the travel stuff. This way as I keep traveling, I can keep using the same notebook, but just swap out the travel stuff: maps, receipt management, basic info and maybe moleskin can license this to a travel book co like lonely planet, who will have actually useful information. I really didn't find the tabbing useful. I guess they really expect someone to be in the country/city for an extended stay where so much is going to come out of the journeys and the person is completely analog (which I'm not; iphone connected). Anyway, I don't think I'd get these again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone except for someone who LOVES the concept from beginning to end. To be clear this is NOT a guide.  Frommer's Stockholm Day by Day (Frommer's Day by Day - Pocket) $12.99 Features tours of? major sights such as?the Royal Palace, Kungliga Slottet, the Vasamuseet,?several museums, and?the fabulous, luxury food market, Ostermalmshallen, for reindeer and?smoked fish. Detailed neighborhood walks cover the oldest part of Stockholm,? the green spaces of Djurgarden, and the ultra trendy, formerly working class area of Sodermalm and Langholmen. Special interest?tours include 20th century Swedish architecture; Swedish design, Kid”Ēs Stockholm, Artistic Stockholm, and Gourmet Stockholm.. Outdoor Stockholm featuers parks and sea side walks not found elsewhere in the book. Day trips are offered to the Island of Fjadeerhollmarna, as well as Sigtuna to the north of Stockholm, and the island of Birka, which is a living Viking excavation.  Time Out Stockholm (Time Out Guides) $19.95 I used this book for a trip to Stockholm & the archipelago. I read it before my trip, and it prepared me well to find my way around, and narrow down what I wanted to see. Once there, the descriptions of historical facts and stories behind the sights were very good. Prices- as with so many guidebooks, prices were slightly outdated. I was using a December 2007 edition for a trip in August 2008, so I suppose that's to be expected. Most prices were about 20 SEK (about $3) higher, including the Vasa Museum and the Absolute Icebar. Maps- The maps were good, but not great. I was able to find my way around very well, although some smaller streets have been omitted from the maps. Restaurants and attractions are very well marked, though. The maps are all grouped in the back of the book on consecutive pages, which makes it difficult to get a scope of the layout of the city's islands in relation to each other. A foldout map would have been much better. I do like that the book is lightweight and not at all thick, so it's easy to transport & carry all day. It also has a few color photos, giving you an idea of what some sights look like. Overall, this book certainly helped me enjoy my time in Stockholm. I would probably recommend taking a supplemental street map, and then you'll be fully prepared.
