I purchased a set for around the house and DIY mechanic work. I did have to clean off the set before using it (black oily substance on everything), and the pieces of the set are somewhat difficult to take out and put in. BUT, the case keeps everything securely in one place and is easy to carry around. The 69 piece set has it all for around the house and garage needs. It's handy to take along on road trips too. It's a great deal on a well packaged socket set. Can't go wrong with this one.

We received one as a gift and loved it. After about a month of occasional use, the LED's began to flicker and then turn itself off. You could press the button to turn it on only for it to wait a short while and turn itself back off. First one, then the second, and soon all three did the same thing. When it came on, it was very bright and looked normal but couldn't figure out the turning itself off problem. We soon found out that the batteries that ship with it aren't that great and apparently the LED lights don't go dim when batteries get too weak (like traditional bulbs), they turn off. So if yours does this, replace with good alkalines or lithiums. Wonderful light though, EXTREMELY BRIGHT, not for kids.. I suspect it could harm eyes if anyone were to stare into it. (I got "flashed" accidentally and saw a spot for quite a while.) We bought two more for relatives as gifts this year.

I guess it's my own fault because I've had the same thing happen to me with a former Stanley screwdriver, but I thought the FatMax would be different. I was wrong. These screwdrivers are definitely not heavy duty. I just broke one today. The tip just chipped off. Chipped. Not bent. It chipped. Don't bother with these. Spend the extra money and get a better set.

Now, as far as the good, these have very nice handles. They're comfortable and rounded on the end for bearing down on screws without hurting your hand. Plus they have a rubber grip for extra traction. It's also a comprehensive set. I just wish the quality was up to par with the design.

This set has been great for maintenance around the shop. Carrying it on the truck, however, reveals the problems everyone's been having with the case.

Given that you can generally adjust most of the sockets to stay firm even when bouncing along on and off road, it's really not such a problem that the case doesn't hold them fast all the time. The biggest hangup is the foam padding ~ I've noticed it tends to get pinched between socket and case, and when it does those are the sockets that pop out.

Another reviewer suggested using a sheet of bubble wrap, and that or a sheet of soft foam should take care of the problem entirely.
