![]() Merry Stand By Me - Wheelchair Standing Aid $382.00 Merry Stand By Me is a brand new product and was designed to assist the wheelchair user to return to the function of standing from a seated wheelchair position. The Merry Stand By Me will assist the wheelchair person to return to vertical integration (upright walking) and returning to functional mobility. Excellent device for Multiple Sclerosis diagnosed persons to keep them mobile. The Merry Stand By Me could be easily called a portable parallel bar, as it looks like one. The person rolls his/her wheelchair into the frame, and stands up holding onto the front cross bar, practicing weight shifting, stepping in place, and then is able to sit down again in the wheelchair. The person is able to practice standing and sitting independently so self-rehabilitation is being self-administered by the patient. The Merry Stand By Me is constructed of black tubular steel, with arch shaped sides, two front cross rails and two bottom rails which places the weight on the floor and anchors the Merry Stand By Me to the floor. Benefits: Teaches person to get from sit to stand from a wheelchair. Encourages self-rehabilitation. Increases upper body and leg strength. Improves ambulation and functional mobility. Features: Washable black powder coated frame. Weighs 35 lbs. Wide enough to hold wheelchair inside frame. 30" clearance. Front bar easy to reach. 33" above the floor. Side bars for standing stability. 37 1/2" above the floor. Bottom weighted to support standing and pull-up body weight. Bottom gripped to hold frame to floor, either tile or carpet. Sized to fit into therapy and/or common community rooms. ![]() Custer Exclusive 12" Figure by Sideshow General George $199.99 Custer Exclusive 12" Figure by Sideshow General GeorgeThe Sideshow Exclusive version of the General George A. It's about four boys ages 12 and 13 (Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, Jerry O'Connell) who take an overnight hike through the woods near their Oregon town to find the body of a boy who's been missing for days. Their journey includes a variety of scary adventures (including a ferocious junkyard dog, a swamp full of leeches, and a treacherous leap from a train trestle), but it's also a time for personal revelations, quiet interludes, and the raucous comradeship of best friends. Set in the 1950s, the movie indulges an overabundance of anachronistic profanity and a kind of idealistic, golden-toned nostalgia (it's told in flashback as a story written by Wheaton's character as an adult, played by Richard Dreyfuss). But it's delightfully entertaining from start to finish, thanks to the rapport among its young cast members and the timeless, universal themes of friendship, family, and the building of character and self-esteem. Kiefer Sutherland makes a memorable teenage villain, and look closely for John Cusack in a flashback scene as Wheaton's now-deceased and dearly missed brother. A genuine crowd-pleaser, this heartfelt movie led director Rob Reiner to even greater success with his next film, The Princess Bride. --Jeff Shannon ![]() Simply the Best Christmas Album $17.99 A rather presumptive holiday title, Simply the Best Christmas Album is an unqualified best--if you like classical, choral, and symphonic music. Marquee talent such as Placido Domingo, Natalie Cole, and Jose Carreras anchor the mix, abetted by the redoubtable London Brass, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Edward Higgenbottom & The Choir of New College, Oxford, and the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra. This two-disc, 36-piece set presents a broad spectrum of holiday pageantry that embraces familiar traditional works like The Nutcracker and more contemporary pieces from Sumi Jo and Linda Eder. From triumphant brass and angelic choirs to stirring string pieces and rich, lovely orchestral movements, Simply the Best sets an exquisitely festive mood. --Martin Keller |
