![]() Spider-Man - The High Definition Trilogy (Spider-Man / Spider-Man 2 / Spider-Man 3) [Blu-ray] $92.95 A wonderful, exciting adventure in the best HD I've seen so far. Whomever said any of these movies was "grainy" didn't watch it on a TV as good as my Mitsubishi Diamond Series. The story was great and endearing, the casting was great, Spiderman was perfect and the HD was breataking. This is what good movies are all about: telling a story, using artistic means to do it, and have a great cast to do it. And, of course, the ending was great too. ![]() Hasbro Spider-Man & Friends Sing-a-Long Spider-Man $29.99 I bought this for my son's 2nd birthday and he absolutely loved it! He is a huge Spider-Man fan, and he carried this toy around with him for days. We got a lot of smiles from strangers at my daughter's soccer game when he was playing with this in the crowd. Just FYI, the voice Spider-Man sings with is a child's voice - I think I was expecting it be a man's voice. It didn't bother my son, but might bother an older child ... it's more like baby spiderman. I rated it 3 stars on durability because it's built solidly but, after a couple days, the voice stopped working on ours. He still dances and moves, but there's no voice - not sure what the problem is. My son still plays with it, but misses the singing. We're returning and getting a new one. The only other negative is that the motor sound when he's moving is loud enough to be heard above his singing, and that whirring sound can get annoying after a while. ![]() Spectacular Spider-Man: Complete First Season $25.95 I'm a huge fan of the original 90's Spider-Man cartoon and was skeptical (to say the least) when I first saw the unveiling of this new series. I'm not a fan of the artwork and I'm getting weary of the constant rehashing of Spider-Man's origins. However, after being convinced by some friends to check it out, I have to say I've been extremely pleased with this series. First off, while it is yet another rehashing of Spider-Man's high school origins, the primary love interest for the show is Gwen Stacy and NOT Mary Jane Watson -- a refreshing return to old-school Spidey. Also, despite my personal dislike for the art-style, the animation is smooth and moves fluidly providing some astounding and often times brilliant fight sequences. They also do an excellent job of representing the characters while keeping them unique in personality and ability. The Rhino, Sandman, Venom and The Green Goblin were done exceedingly well in my opinion. The only bad thing I can think to say is that a lot of the teenage banter is very cheesy and sounds too much like an older writer trying to capture this generation's "hip" lingo. I can't help but cringe anytime Eddie Brock or Peter Parker call each other "bro". So, quick list... Pros: - Excellent fight sequences - Great storytelling (representing both the new and the classic) - Great character representation Cons: - "Hip"-lingo - Art-style (this one is personal, most people I talk to love the art) ![]() Spider-Man: New Ways to Die $19.99 If your a Spider-Man fan and have found the Brand New Day interesting I highly recommend that you pick this book up, The best of the Brand New Day arcs, as of yet, Spidey meeting Anti-Venom is priceless and the ever feared "Ven-orpion". As I said if your a fan of Spider-Man get this book. |
