![]() Warhammer Dawn Of War Platinum $29.99 Enjoyable, but not great. Most disappointing is that this is merely another Command and Conquer game. The same ridiculous maps which are merely mazes, and the same computer tactics (computer attacks you from both sides of the map at the same time making it nearly impossible to scroll back and forth and control both sides of the battle). The same units which never gain experience. The same squads which never advance with you throughout the campaign. The same building/energy point system so you can't really concentrate on strategy and tactics as you have to keep going back and managing your base. The same buildings which pop up out of nowhere when you build them. And the same dictated game sequence which basically walks you through their movie sequences. If you liked Command and Conquer and want more, here it is. And don't get me wrong, for Command and Conquer it's not bad. I play the entire thing. But the original Warhammer 40,000 was so imaginative and expansive, it's a shame this is not. ![]() Warhammer Dawn of War II $39.99 A fan of DOW since the very beginning, this sequel was not what I expected. Great in graphic but there the good ends. I hope THQ return to soulstorm that is a great game. Playing DOW II campaign you feel like if you play over and over the same mission, I miss the possibility of having a bigger army and more versatility with different kind of platoons. I like the addition of xp. and Tyranids too, but it is not enough. After completing the campaign, I returned to Soulstorm, a game that will give me more and more hours of fan, or COH with a lot of strategic options. ![]() Warhammer 40k: Squad Command $19.99 It seems that the disk tends to stop reading from time to time. I have a new PSP 3001 and all the other disks read fine. I guess I got one of the UMD's that got passed QC. All in all the game is great. ![]() Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War Soulstorm $29.99 title says it all--the game has awesome action, the AI is beefier, but I have to wonder if it is too much so. there are some levels on medium, i find, that are nearly impossible and thus could turn off casual players. Aside from this, the load times in my opinion are unnecessarily slow and it should have been fixed before releasing it as a final product. Still worth buying. on a completely different note: to all game makers: When I buy a game, it's fine. I should not have to scramble for disks. I inherently dislike, nay, loathe any business modal that assumes it's customers are crooks and need to be treated as such. I should not have to jump through any hoops to enjoy my product--god forbid someone should lose the disk or it should be scratched somehow. |
