My 9 year old son couldn't put this book down. He was so anxious to read this book after finishing book #1. He loves the entire series. I am getting him book # 3 for Christmas.

"Dead Poets Society" is, of course, a classic. Here in Sweden, it's probably one of the most popular American movies. At least it used to be. Of course, everyone knows what you are talking about if you say "Captain, my captain".

My own relation to the movie is a bit complex. For a while, I tended to sympathize with Stern Military Father (the bad guy). I mean, being a doctor is a more productive pursuit than being a pussycat actor with a wreath on your head. Right, Newanda? I also thought poor Puck was a whimp for killing himself.

OK, maybe I was a bit neurotic in my 20's.

But yes, "Dead Poets Society" deserves five stars.

Charming. That is the perfect word for this book. Absolutely charming. A new novel, just come out this year, TMBS is quite hilarious and at the same time heartwarming. The touching story of these four poor kids and their struggle to find a place where they belong is just charming.

There were times where I thought the book was a bit too long. I would think "Okay, okay we get it. Move on!" but then I'd hit another good patch and I would fall back in love with the story.

Definitely a book I would recommend. Not particularly difficult to read, just a bit long in some places. But it's a nice book that leaves you with a happy feeling. At least it did for me.
