I am enjoying this writer. This is not my most favorite of the set , but they do need to be read in the order they are on her web site do not read them in order they are published. I am looking forward to book 4. Can't wait.

I bought this disk when it was initially released in 1999, and I rediscover it every few years or so- prompting this review. She's one of my favorite country artists, and SWF represents Chely's big breakout to national stardom with a #1 single. That success didn't last, but that has nothing to do with artistic merit. For fans of the current crop of country female teen vocalists, give Chely and this record a chance. You'll love it; this is more genuinely poignant and heartfelt. Chely's voice just packs more emotional wallop than today's young country women.

The first three tracks are great and better known, but "Unknown" is probably my favorite on this record. I took my title from its lyrics, about a woman searching for love; these are honest emotions about real people. Most reviewers appreciate Chely's smoky, husky voice, but to answer one criticism, Chely's voice is emotional and expressive. It conveys the message of the lyrics with more conviction than other, more technically precise singers. This release runs the gamut from modern to traditional and from honky-tonk to tender ballad, so there's something for everyone. I recommend this CD highly and hope that Chely Wright gets some well-earned recognition and continues to record.
