When Frank Miller created the first "yarn" of Sin City, he was already famous for his work on Batman and Daredevil. When you read those works and compare them to Sin City, it's easy to see the resemblance.

This tale was a redefining of the noir type of story telling. The dark artwork, solely black and white, helped to emphasize this tale of vengeance, of love lost and found, and of finding one's place in a dark world. The main character of this "yarn" is Marv, a giant of a man who is next to invincible. He falls for a lady of the night named Goldie, who is killed next to him after they both pass out from their meeting. Marv uncovers a deep plot that runs through one of the most powerful families of Sin City.

This was the first volume in a seven volume series and one of the three main stories used when Sin City was adapted in to a film in 2005. Marv has also become the major figure that represents the series.

For fans of Frank Miller, this is a must have, along with the other parts of the series. This story would also be a good buy for those who like intriguing detective stories.

The Yellow : Focuses on the old Police Officer who tries to protect a young woman from being raped and murdered by a psychopathic sadistic killer from an influential political family.

Sin City provides a huge cast starring Jessica Alba, Clive Owen, Bruce Willis, Michael Clarke Duncan, Rosario Dawson, Elijah Wood and many more. What makes this movie so unique is that it is made in High quality Black and White with some colorization on certain portion of the scene giving it a polished look. This new approach has really made this movie very special; though the movie consists of enough blood and gore, the presentation has made it some what lighter.

This movie carries with itself a likable story, if you like movies based on graphical novel, then you can give it a shot.
