This isn't Garbage. This is her own album and it is pretty good. Strong lyrics, good vocals of course, and a more laid back sound compared to some of Garbage's songs. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys Shirley Manson's vocal talents. ![]() Bleed Like Me $13.98 The disc opens up with 2 typical Garbage songs ("Bad Boyfriend" and "Run Baby Run") that could have been on either of their first 2 discs. The band sounds great, like there's a little friendly friction and competition and they're playing off of and against each other. I will say that I think this is the best that Shirley's voice has ever sounded. The next song, "Right Between The Eyes", could have easily found its way onto a Blackhearts record. Garbage has admittedly paid homage to several bands in the past by borrowing a sound, production or style and this disk is no exception. The title track takes a musical line from U2's Joshua Tree and lyrical structures from Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side". Again, Shirley's voice is dead on. The choir like harmonizing at the end of the song is hauntingly beautiful, especially in contrast to the dark subject of the song. The next 4 songs start off sounding like a mix of their first 3 CDs and B-sides (Especially "Sex Is Not The Enemy") and each one becomes more of the same. "It's All Over But The Crying" does have some of the nicest piano I've heard on a Garbage record. "Boys Wanna Fight" and "Why Don't You Come Over" start to fizzle then "Happy Home" and "Why Do You Love Me" try to bring it back with some old rock riffs but it may be too little too late. ![]() Angelfish $9.49 I bought this trying not compare it too much to her band Garbage.
