Los espa«Šoles y muchos turistas se aprovechan de la miseria en Cuba, los matrimonios por conveniencia para salir de la isla y de las cubanas. Es una critica a la situacion de la isla y de como tambien tratan a los inmigrantes ilegales en la madre patria. Un tema fuerte, pero que se trata adecuadamente a nivel de comedia. Alexis es increible cuando asume la doble personalidad del rico espanol que muere cuando tiene un encuentro sexual con una mujer cubana...la recomiendo para un buen rato!  Amor de Hombre $9.99 "Amor de Hombre (Love of a Man)" The Meaning of Friendship Amos Lassen "Amor de Hombre" is a humorous take on a serious subject and shows us a side of gay life in Spain. It shows life as a mature way for men to interact in their world and lead rewarding social lives. It takes place in Spain in the 1990's and shows the strong friendship between a gay man and his female best friend and how that relationship is tested when the man enters a relationship with another man. The girl who was used to getting all the attention becomes jealous of the "amor de hombre"--the love of a man. The characters are changed by the new situation. Esperanza is a typical "faghag" and her friendship with Ramon is a rare kind of relationship. Ramon depends on her as a means of support and for friendship. As a matter of fact, their relationship seems deeper than it is. Ramon takes her for granted and we really see this with when another man enters the picture. The movie is a snappy, fast-paced entertaining film and precedes later movies that deal with situations between gay men and straight women. Ramon is a professional man--a successful lawyer who happens to be gay but is single unlike many of his friends. Esperanza is a 40-something divorced school teacher who loves Ramon and always tries to help him to find the right man. Andrea Occhipinti is wonderful as Ramon and Lola Lotes shines as Esperanza. The movie is very funny and the issue of friendship is paramount in the film. There are times when the movie is also very moving. More important than anything else is the yearning of gay men to find partners and to be loved. |
