My brother in-law is using this for his laptop, since the battery tends to get a bit to warm for his lap to handle (& he hates draging over a side table or using the coffee table since they are usually the wrong height). He tells me it works great & it is the present he uses the most (as in every day).
Since he has a lap top with a rather large screen, I was really relieved that it wasn't too small & really worked for him.
Great product! (The fact that there is a schooner on it & that he is an avid sailor was a definite bonus!)

The velcro tabs for the socks should be high thigh, these were placed so low that they ended up at my sons knees - so they didn't work at all.
I had read the previous review before I ordered, and thought maybe they just unfortunately got sent a defective item...but sounds like I got the same one and this is just how them make them.
I would not recommend buying these.
