![]() Passed Away [VHS] $9.99 William Peterson's showcase performance as a sympathetic prototype of Dan Quayle proves that, long before CSI, he was capable of complex subtlety and timing. This ensemble piece does well with the "eccentric family" genre, and can be thanked in passing for featuring a human but non-degenerate priest--a rarity in movies for decades now. ![]() Gypsy 83 [VHS] $49.98 I must say...I randomly picked up this DVD at Blockbuster because it was on sale and I no longer have cable in my new San Francisco apartment. At first it seemed a little cheesy and I was a little unsure of the acting....but after 20 minutes or so into the film I was HOOKED! The great music, the chemistry between the two leads, the scenery, the images and dialogue that reminded me of my past.....it was so identifiable. I absolutely loved Karen Black's character. Great voice, great acting. I wanted to see more of her in the film. She was so cool and mysterious. Gypsy's (Sarah) voice was amazing also. Not really much more I can say..very enjoyable. For anyone who "thinks out of the box" and does not conform to society....this is for you. |
