First things first: I love Sting's craft in music and lyrics. I've been a huge fan since the late 70's when I heard "Don't Stand So Close To Me" on a flight from Mumbai to Rome on the way back to Nigeria. I've followed Sting's solo career with equel vigour from the very first time I heard "If You Love Somone..." and "Love Is The Seventh Wave" on BBC shortwave. I've seen Sting 10 times starting with Nothing Like The Sun through the live ..All This Time promotional tour. I met him on one occasion and was front-row center on another. My favourite two albums are DotBT and Soul Cages. That's a tough choice because there's much in between that I really love.

I wanted to love this CD. I really did. I even tried. But it doesn't come up as compelling as his previous material. Not to my ears, anyway. I almost hate admitting that because I'm such a great fan of Sting's compositions, but in the interest of being honest, there you go. I purchased the Japanese import of the SACD upon its release and have listened to it a few dozen times. That's not to say it's bad; there are a few tracks that I like (as opposed to all of them) and some very solid hooks in some of the songs ("Stolen Car"'s "take me dancing" chorus jumps to mind). I like "Dead Man's Rope" and "Inside" a lot. The sitar in "Book Of My Life" is damn good too, but the song itself sadly doesn't do anything for me.

I can't put my finger on it, but the music doesn't *move* me like nearly all of his previous material does. One thought: This might be because the music is heavily electronic and over-produced. That's something I've noticed more since Brand New Day (which I liked a lot). The live show on the tour didn't change my mind (though Annnie Lennox was great). Thus, this album ranks as my least favourite Sting release. Unfortunately, my opinion has gotten worse the more I listen and it no longers gets played. If you're a Sting fan, you can't pass it up. And you can probably buy this used for a couple of dollars.
Sacred Cross, Love Stronger Than Steel, Pewter Pendant with Adjustable Cord Necklace
Sacred Cross, Love Stronger Than Steel, Pewter Pendant with Adjustable Cord Necklace

$8.99
This is a pewter Cross pendant along with a black adjustable cord necklace. The pendant is from The Name of the Cross series and this style of Cross is called the "Sacred Cross" which means " Love Stronger than Steel". In religion and art, the cross is the richest and most enduring of geometric symbols, taking many forms and meanings throughout history. It is both the emblem of the Christian faith and a more ancient and universal image of the cosmos reduced to its simplest terms; two intersecting lines making four points of direction. These stood for the four cardinal points and the four rain bearing winds, the four phases of the moon and the four great gods of the elements.. The cross was also a summary of the Tree of Life. Various civilizations, such as Roman and Persian and the Pagan world had their own version and symbols within the cross. Collect all 12 of "The Name of the Cross" pewter pendants.
