![]() Twilight Soundtrack $18.98 If you're expecting the songs from this soundtrack to fit cohesively with the movie, you will be confused but not necessarily disappointed. If you're able to listen to the soundtrack as an independent album and just appreciate the music...you will enjoy it much more. I love Paramore's "Decode" but after listening to the lyrics, I realize that this song must have been written after reading New Moon. I was confused by this song's inclusion in Twilight but after reading New Moon, it makes so much more sense. Of course I love Muse and I don't know that this was the best song to showcase their amazing talent but it did fit well enough in the family softball scene. Iron and Wine's Flightless Bird American Mouth was also a beautiful song to end the movie with. It was lovely watching Edward and Bella dance to this in the last scene. I also really liked Blue Foundation's Eyes on Fire...great great song. All and all the songs on this CD are pretty great but the album definitely lacks cohesion. ![]() True Blood $18.98 Hey this CD is pretty amazing. I hadn't seen the T.V. show but was lent the DVD by a friend and as soon as I heard the theme tune I had to have the CD and DVD!!!! Pretty easy listening and kick back and chill. ![]() House M.D. Original Television Soundtrack $17.98 If you're a House fan, and you find yourself diggin' the tunes on the show, this is a MUST HAVE! The songs are great and stand on their own. ![]() Once: Music from the Motion Picture $13.98 I have a lot of music. Probably more than I can give a proper listen to. Let's just call it a sickness I don't want to recover from. I had even given The Frames a listen back towards the beginning of their career. Nothing really prepared me for this. I saw the movie first. I never buy soundtracks and I bought this one immediately. Glen Hansard's character loses what he believes is the love of his life. He pours out his grief and and anguish in these songs. The songs he sings at night on the streets of Dublin. The days are left for songs that people recognize and have a better chance of earning some money. His music touches the heart of a Czech immigrant who's a talented musician in her own right and she helps him realize his dream of recording his music. He has his girl in London and she has a husband who didn't come to Ireland with her. Despite their commitments, there's an almost unspoken realization that true love may be standing right in front of them. Every bit of the heart, soul, warmth, humor and gentle sadness of the film is captured in the music of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova. Hansard is a poet and the amount of emotion that he wrings out of each and every song is incredible. Irglova is a talented musician and lyricist who's voice wraps around Hansard's perfectly. I can't recommend just a few tracks, it's all good here. if you don't come away thinking that "Falling Slowly" is one of the most beautiful songs ever written, I don't know what I can do for you. Then you'll listen repeatedly to "When Your Mind's Made Up" , "Leave", "Trying To Pull Myself Away", "All The Way Down", "Once" and "Say It To Me Now". You'll find yourself seeking out The Swell Season which is Glen, Mar and members of Glen's long time and phenomenally talented band, The Frames. Then you'll turn back to The Frames themselves and memorize "Star, Star", "Pavement Tune", "Revelate", "What Happens When The Heart Just Stops", "Red Chord". 'The Stars Are Underground", "God Bless Mom", "Rent Day Blues" and a lot, lot more. Right here, you have a chance to watch your favorite movie, listen to the best soundtrack I've ever heard and acquire a couple of favorite bands. What more could you ask for? |
