 Screenshot $24.95 I am a mystery/thriller reader and am always looking for great new authors and novel ideas. I gave "Screenshot" the "first few pages test" and next thing I knew, I was onboard for the whole ride. I couldn't put this book down-another lost weekend. The premise is that someone is murdering people live on the Internet, using some bizarre and spectacular methods involving "Acme killing devices" (Acme as in Roadrunner cartooon fame). The part that has people all over the world watching is that the victims are all bad people-child molesters, terrorists, druglords. Some murky and fascinating moral issues drive the action as the plot unfolds and a team of unlikely people join forces to find Screenshot. Seth Mathias is already carring heavy baggage from his past and now finds himself unwillingly cast into the role of spokesman for the killer. He teams up with FBI Special Agent Karen Larsen and genius (?) scientist Morgan Sicals and the hunt is on. This leads them on a twisted journey, far off the grid, as they try to outwit the brilliant, devious assassin. I loved this book. It is not often you find a great thriller set in cyberspace with great offbeat characters. It made me think, it made me care and I give it the highest possible recommendation. The writer, John Darrin, is one to watch, starting with this awesome debut novel.
