![]() Beauty & the Beast $17.98 This was one of the first CD's that I ever purchased. What a wonderful collection of poetry and music. ![]() Beauty and the Beast, Episode 17: Down to a Sunless Sea [VHS] $14.98 An ex-fiance comes back into Catherine's life. Catherine is not terribly comfortable with this as we see from flashbacks that the breakup up was not particularly amicable. Vincent is very uncomfortable with this as he battles feelings of jealously. He also worries for Catherine's safety as he is haunted by ominous dreams of Catherine being in danger. The notion of an ex-fiance coming back into Catherine's life could potentially have made a compelling episode, but unfortunately this episode goes off into an unimaginative "fatal attraction" direction. In 1998 I conducted a poll among Beauty and the Beast fans asking them to rate the 44 episodes of the first two seasons on a 1-to-10 scale. 31 fans participated. "Down to a Sunless Sea" finished 36th out of the 44 episodes.I placed "Down to a Sunless Sea" 37th in my own personal 1-through-44 rank-ordering of the episodes. ![]() Mutant Chronicles $26.98 I had high hopes for this movie from what I saw in the previews. Thomas Jane, Ron Pearlman, John Malcovich! But of coarse it didn't turn out to be the sci fi epic I had hoped it would. The story was poorly written and made little sense. There's some "machine" that wants to turn everyone into mutants, and some religious people want to stop it..or something. The special effects where nothing to hoot and holler about ether, the blood looked like crap and everything else while not terrible wasn't impressive. And then we get to the acting, possibly one of the biggest dissappointments of the movie, very sub par performances from good actors. Especialy from John Malcovich he just ... sounded like he was reading off a cue card with no emotion behind his voice what so ever. Pearlman and Jane didn't serve much better. I'm glad I bought this movie used and didn't pay $20 for it that's for sure. If there had been a one and a half star option that's the score I would of given it. Boo to Mutant Chronicles for wasting my time...and my $5. ![]() Sons of Anarchy: Season One $49.98 from the same producers as the Shield, this show is nitty, gritty, down and dirty. Love it!!!!!! |
