![]() The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: The First 25 Years $39.99 since this is the overview of the first 25 years of the Hall of Fame, year by year, i'd have preferred more photos from each induction year's ceremonies rather than stock photos of the inductees. there's about 4 pages of old photos to one page of actual induction photos for each year. i'd have also preferred if there were actual program lists of the songs performed each year rather than just the short recap of musical highlights. i thought this would be the definite reference to the yearly ceremonies, but it reads more like just another overview of rock legends. i wanted to see more focus on the actual ceremonies in addition to the biographical material. the only appendix is reprints of the annual program covers which is only mildly interesting. more useful would be a simple year by year list of the inductees. but this is a nice book to look at, just not as definitive as it could be. ![]() Dickey Betts & Great Southern - Back Where It All Begins Live At The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame $19.98 Got this recently - loved Eat a Peach and Brothers and Sisters...so this offering was disappointing. Some good playing, but some problems as well. I agree with others about the drummer - some real glitches there! Great bass player - keyboards good but a little rough here and there. Dickey still playing some great lines, not many guitarists are instantly recognizable for having a unique sound, and he is one! But overall, hmmm...... ![]() Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Trivia 2010 Daily Boxed Calendar (Calendar) (Day to Day Calendar) $13.99 Test your knowledge about the rock and roll music that changed the world with this daily calendar. This fascinating collection of music trivia from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame will entertain you all year long. ![]() The Concert for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame $15.93 Incredible brace of artists here, and I'd imagine the greatest tracks to be George Clinton/P Funk with Larry Graham doing the Sly & Family Stone songs. But I can not and WILL not "appreciate," or for THAT matter, "tolerate" anything that claims....Cleveland - ANYTHING! Rock and Roll was born in Memphis Tennessee, and just because some lame disc jockey ripped off the Black People, and applied one of their euphenisms to bename the incredible music rising northward from its birthplace down South...gimme a break. When something akin to a (giggle) "Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame" comes from Memphis, THEN I'll be interested. But Cleveland? Forget it - I live here now, and, trust me, Cleveland does NOT "rock," despite what I Hunter would have you believe... |
