 Dreamland $7.99 I remember when I first heard of Robert Miles back in 1995 or '96 when a sample of his song "Children" was featured in a commercial advertising songs on the CD, Pure Moods. I was instantly captivated. Then I heard "Children" again in a MTV special for George Lucas' Star Wars Trilogy: Special Edition, played during a montage of scenes from the classic films. I then knew that I had to have this music! When I finally bought the CD "Dreamland", I was absolutely mesmerized as I found almost ever track to be heartpoundingly breathtaking. I often took long car rides listening to Robert Miles' masterpieces to totally escape the troubles of "Everyday Life". (ironic lol) "Dreamland" is a timeless collection of musical gems that have often been the soundtrack to my life. It will no doubt always be one of my first choices of music to listen to whenever I want to escape from it all. Organik Remixes $16.98 Ok, I've to admit I had better expectations overall for this 'Remixes' CD and unfortunately it fails to deliver in my opinion.Don't get me wrong, it has some good trax on both the CDs but I was expecting more and something different.CD 1 is my favorite among the two. CD 2 is just too downtempo and dark sounding for my taste.Also, the main thing that upsets me is the length of each CD. It's like 1/2 hour on each side. That's ridiculous especially for the import price I paid @ Tower Records. :(I liked 'Organik' better than this one and hope that the next solo album by Miles is little less dark and more melodic w/ beautiful rhythms and such. |
