 The Lovers, The Dreamers and Me $18.98 Overall I am pleased with the delivery time, product condition and with the artist's performance. I've become a fan of Jane Monheit and will be buying more of her CD's. She's a talented female vocalist, anyone not having done so should take a few minutes to listen to her sound clips.  My One and Only Thrill $13.98 I first discovered Melody with this album and the lead track Baby I'm A fool earlier this year... "Baby..." is such a great track and a very good representation of the album. It all sounds so soulful and sincere... nowadays, there is a real trend to try to be retro and recreate old styles of music, it would be easy to dismiss Melody as just another bandwagon-hopper trying to sound like an old style jazz singer... but Melody is so convincing.. this music is perfect for her and her voice is lovely to listen to... She hasn't gone the big band route or an album of standards, mostly it's her own work and this album is a great collection of soulful and soothing numbers. Her music is never overly complex or showy... it's her voice and her thoughtful lyrics that carry her work not big fancy arrangements. There is something understated yet beautiful about Melody's work here and on her debut. I think this album is a definite progression from her last... her songwriting definitely is improving ... the songs feel more fleshed out this time and are not as short or fleeting as on her debut ... you can sense real progress here. I love the catchy Who Will Comfort Me, the jaunty If The Stars Were Mine (particularly the version without orchestration), and the many soulful ballads like Your Heart Is As Black As Night, Our Love Is Easy, Lover Undercover, The Rain and My One And Only Thrill.... Mostly, the album is ballad-centred.... But if this is your cup of tea, then you will love this album, great to just chill out to and think.... A very introspective style of album and definitely one for those moods. Now, I'm sure some will find this too boring, too samey maybe... but I think you are missing the point if you do... if you are looking for something uplifting, up tempo... then this album certainly isn't for you... the only party this will start is a subdued style dinner party... not a wild night out. And that is no crime, its nice to have some music to just chill to and relax to at times when the mood takes you... I for one am sold, and will definitely be picking up Melody's future releases if this work is anything to go by. Enjoy!  Selections From Renee Olstead $49.76 What a beautiful voice!
