![]() Before the Devil Knows You're Dead $3.99 This movie hits hard, especially in today's miserable economy. Two brothers, desperate for money for different reasons, plot to rob their parents' suburban jewelry store. The brothers have grown up in the business so they know how to fence the jewels, they know their way around the store and its schedule, and the parents are insured, so the brothers will get what they need (or think they need) and no harm done. Of course it all goes horribly wrong. The story is old hat but the story-telling structure is thought-provoking, the visual style unobtrusively perfect, and the acting excellent all around, particularly Albert Finney. The audience is challenged to think about the choices we make, what really matters to us, what we might be driven to, and how we delude ourselves that if we can just surmount this or that obstacle, we'll be in clover. The bonus feature about the making of the film is interesting. However, this is uniformly dark, perhaps Lumet's bleakest work since "The Pawnbroker." Don't go looking for anything fun or life-affirming. It's easy to see why this was not a big financial success. ![]() You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown $19.98 I love this so much more than Snoopy the Musical and more than the Broadway version. The last song in Snoopy the Musical Just One Person always makes me sad but in this special the last song Happiness always makes me happy. I love the songs but I only wish I could find the music for the TV special and not the Broadway version. My favorite is the Home on the Range song when everyone is yelling at each other it's so funny to watch. I think Robert Towers does a great Snoopy voice. Great special and I really enjoy it. I have it on video but it's not a good picture. I can't wait to get in on DVD 1/26/10. ![]() Western Digital 1 TB RE3 SATA 7200 RPM 32 MB Cache Bulk/OEM Enterprise Hard Drive WD1002FBYS $0.00 The original hard drive in my HP EX485 MediaSmart server was nearly full and I wanted to add an additional drive in one of the remaining bays. After reading online information and after a short discussion with a Western Digital representative, I decided that a Western Digital RE3 series drive would meet my needs for a fast and robust internal hard drive. The drive arrived quickly and in excellent shape. The installation in the server was easy. The drive has been working correctly in the server for several weeks. |
