People either really like this game or don't like it at all. It is a strong departure from the gameplay of the original Rainbow Six series and what some of the fans expected. In those (or at least the ones I played), you have a team and plan out your missions in advance. Getting shot was usually lethal, and teammates who were wounded would stay that way for a while.

The game was great for people who liked the strategy/tactics side of things, but to be honest I got bored and frustrated trying to plan everything out, and firefights tended to be very short. Plus, how realistic is it to have a map of every place you go and know where your enemies are at all times? The ease of getting killed was what made planning a necessity.

Vegas replaces that with a three man team and a Call of Duty style of fighting. You get maps, but not of the whole place at once, and no matter how badly you're hit you recover in 15 seconds or so. You can get a satellite recon of where the enemies are, but only for a short time. The result is longer and more intense fights, and you have to get used to fluid and changing events.

There are some shortcomings, you pretty much fight all in Vegas, there are many scripted sequences, and to be honest the graphics that emphasized glitz are looking a little dated. I did find it interesting having a main character with a heavy Southern accent who is not played as a villain or comic relief.

Call of Duty 4 and now Modern Warfare have left this game behind in the graphics and mostly the gameplay, but it's still a fun playthrough.

This game looks like it was made for PS2 not PS3. The graphics are muddy and blurry. It is impossible to see more than a few feet. The AI is stupid at best. I don't understand where the good reviews for this game are coming from. Have these people played this game. I feel jipped.

For the price, this is a pretty good game if you are into the Rainbow Six franchise. The play is very similar to Rainbow Six Vegas.

If your a realism person or a simulator type person, you will love this game. It pretty tactical with plenty of fire fights. The multiplayer is endless fun. If you like halo or games like that, you may not like this one. After seeing COD4 the graphics are weaker here, but RB6V is still more fun to me.
