![]() The New Guy $9.99 This movie is for viewers who like something different. It's not your typical office comedy. It starts out funny and veers straight into weird and suspenseful but then hits a brick wall (or cubicle wall in this instance) and crashes into a heap of inane. Getting to the end was too sloppy for me to really recommend this film but I gave it 4 stars for almost making a truly original film. This film is about the true horrors of the first day at a new job for a typical guy trying to find his way in the corporate stucture that he now has to inhabit. The office has a bit of a cult-like atmosphere with the building ID being a highly coveted item. This film has moments of hilarity that make it worth viewing (the voice mail left for his date was great) once but once only. ![]() Shutter (Widescreen) (Unrated Edition) $14.98 **1/2 While on their honeymoon in Japan, a professional American photographer (Joshua Jackson) and his new bride (Rachel Taylor) run over a young woman who, for some inexplicable reason, just happens to be standing in the middle of a deserted country road in the dead of night. Soon, the victim - the obligatory pasty-faced, stringy-haired brunette in a nightie - is haunting the couple's pictures in the form of a "spirit photo," first hanging around the edges of the images, then - when the novelty of that wears off - appearing to the couple in corporeal form, and generally making a first-class nuisance of herself. As thrillers go, there are more shutters than shudders in this slick Hollywood remake of a well-received Thai film from 2004. The storyline and imagery in this version are so reminiscent of other films in the genre that I kept feeling, as I was watching it, that I had seen this exact same movie before (and, no, I haven`t seen the original). The derivative nature of the film hampers our enjoyment of even the few moderately suspenseful scenes director Masayuki Ochiai has been able to wring out of this shopworn material. All told, the movie doesn't add up to much more than a handful of creepy photos combined with a soupcon of spirit-world hocus pocus - though the worm-turning twist ending is pretty darn satisfying, I must admit. ![]() Pokemon Advanced, Vol. 2 - Tree's a Crowd $14.98 Pokemon Advanced, Vol. 2: Tree's A Crowd contains three episodes and two bonus episodes. These five episodes are 18-22 of the sixth TV season. Episode 18: A Poached Ego - This episode has Team Rocket finally doing a good deed. A wicked poacher named Rico has captured some baby Koffings and Ekans. Jessie, James, Wheezing, and Arbok fight valiantly to rescue them, with consequences I did not expect, that really made me sad!!!!!! WHAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! Episode 19: Tree's A Crowd - A spunky rebel Treeko, a wood gecko Pokemon, wants to protect a dying tree that has been it's only home. Episode 20: A Tail With a Twist - A big bully Seviper terrorizes Mae's Torchik. Treeko is beaten badly by it, and has to go to a Pokemon center for treatment for a Poison Tail attack. Meanwhile, the Seviper just may have met it's match in Jessie. Much humor in this episode. After the sad, almost tragic first ep in the DVD, I cracked up a lot over the Seviper and it's antics and attitude. Episode 21: Taming of the Shroomish - A very cute Pokemon called Shroomish holds the clue to rumors of a haunted mansion which is designated for demolition. Episode 22: You Said a Mouthful - I almost fell over laughing. This episode about a super-powerful Pelipper (Pelican Pokemon) and the greedy Team Rocket who tries to profit off it is great. Pelipper is so cute and funny-looking, I laughed just looking at it. ![]() RACHAEL TAYLOR 11X14 COLOR PHOTO $11.99 At Moviestore we have an incredible library of celebrity photography covering movies, TV, music, sport and celebrity.
