It explains why an understanding is the critical first step to resolving the issue. I now know that I was so nervous for the same reason I don't like spiders, snakes, and walking alone in the dark. Knowing specific things I can do before during and after my talks, and what each of the symptoms of nervousness are trying to do for me has been really helpful in minimizing the nervousness. Also, knowing why I was so nervous for the first two minutes (it's chemical!) has helped me kind of smile when it happens and relax a lot more quickly. Plus, I found the instructions on organizing material helps me do that much more quickly, and now I know how to handle questions well. I would definitely recommend this book. It does not give a quick fix, but now I understand why that is impossible anyway. If one really existed it would have been common knowledge a long time ago. So don't waste your money on a book or a tape that claims to give one.
