![]() Mon Cerveau Dans Ma Bouche $20.99 french duo studio work with dark atmosphere, introspective ("my brain in my mouth"), acid. something about the doubts you have everyday when you go back to your empty flat, with a disturbing lucid mood. here nothing is avoided, but nothing is answered. it deals with morals "it's interesting to make youreself sure that being good is badly being bad" with abuse "then you have to go further, but going further is meaningless, this is just the illusion of being another while playing with the worse" with litterature "i read philosophists, it's funny weighing to what extent this reminds true in people everyday life" with fear: "the time doesn't make people older, that's fear which make everybody shut up". ending like: "i now where i'm going; even if this doesn't lead to anywhere, does it matter" musicaly speaking this is somewhere between rock and french rap, with a bit of avantgarde or bricolage. check www.lithiumrecords.com although their label is dead, the site is alive, with lyrics, and interesting other bands. note: sorry for the approximative translations, anyway it would be impossible to have the same style in english. ![]() The Final Programme [VHS] $9.99 I suppose I'm lucky I hadn't read this in book form prior to seeing it on HBO in the 70's. My daughter and I must have watched it 10 times. It is crazy-fun, whacky, so silly and charming, yet dark - Clockwork Orangeish mixed with Dr. Strangelove but not. Michael Moorcock is one of my favorite sci fi authors and this film (though I gather he hates) really captures how funny he is in the most unexpected of ways. If you love the odd, get it. |
