I Spy Preschool Game
I Spy Preschool Game

I guess I'm a little surprised after reading several of the other reviews- my children did not master this game after 10 minutes! I have 2 children who fall into the appropriate age range for this toy. My 5 year old was not very interested in this game although he's played once or twice, but my 3 year old really enjoys it. I lay out the picture cards in columns, and then give him a stack of the word cards that have items to search for. He has completed this task several times. It would be even more challenging if I did not sort the cards and he had to hunt for both pieces. Some children at 3 years old can complete 100 piece puzzles- this game would probably be too easy for them. For my 3 year old this game is at a great challenge level- hard enough to be interesting, but not overwhelmingly frustrating either. The best feature is that the game is self-checking, if the piece fit together, it's the right match, if they don't the child has to keep looking!

Based on the other reviews we purchased this laptop for our two year old son. When he opened it, he was super excited and absolutely loved it. There are certainly a good variety of activities that the toy can perform and we could really see how a toddler could enjoy using this toy for at least a couple of years. The big problem though is that the sound gave out after a couple of weeks even though it was not harshly treated. When we opened the laptop, we found a loose wire that should be easy to reconnect but it is still a little disappointing to have the toy work properly for only a couple of weeks - especially a toy that our son was really enjoying.

My almost 3 year old recently started playing on a computer in daycare. She loves Bailey! Her favorite games are Little, Middle, and Big (where you select the appropriate shoes for each character), and the Nursery Rhyme game (where you select the appropriate word to complete the rhyme). Some of the games are too challenging for now, but she is just starting out; I expected the product take awhile to master. The graphics are pretty simple, older preschoolers used to JumpStart adventures or other Sim-type games might lose interest quickly, but overall I am very pleased with this purchase.

I bought this book for my reluctant preschooler and it's far too wordy to keep his attention. I would buy "I love school" before buying this book.
