Mandy Patinkin's CD "Experiment" is just that, an experiment in voice production and creative presentation. I was not aware of Mr. Patinkin's vocal ability until after he left the TV production, Criminal Minds. His ability to sing from falsetto to strong baritone is wonderful. If you are into a different sound of famous and not so famous songs produced from a different sound, this is a CD to enjoy.

I was raised with Broadway tunes and I have to say that this is one of the best of the genre I've heard. Particular favs are "Rockabye Your Baby With a Dixie Melody" an old Al Jolson number rendered with a lot of spirit, and "Soliloquy" from Carosel.

Mandy has the perfect voice for this music and I can picture him onstage, belting out "Swanee". His "Coffee In A Cardboard Cup" is reminiscent of Spike Jones, without the sound effects.

An altogether terrific album and well worth buying.
