 Om Shanti Om CD $13.99 I shunned the movie Om Shanti Om for a long while because I disliked the cover art, but I made a HUGE mistake. The movie was a fun Bolly flick, and the music was fantastic. It's catchy music that is fun to sing and makes you dance. One of my favorite CDs of all time.  Devdas (2 Disc Set) $18.00 missing most of the colors. This film looks like it is deliberately shot with soft focus most of the time. Evidence is that foreground objects are usually, or sometimes, quite clear while every thing else is blurry. To make matters worse there is what looks like some kind of filter used that gives everything a yellowish golden hew while everything already seems to be that color anyway. There is almost a complete lack of color in most of this film. Perhaps this film should be decolorized to black and white. My opinion is that this kind of cinematography will not sell to consumers using the kind of home theater equipment available today. Many of my favorite Indian actors are in this film and they really aren't given much they can work with. They do their very best, otherwise, I would give this film a 2. The mammoth sets completely overwhelm the actors and the soap opera like story. The drinking song is pretty good, I guess. I cannot believe people in India even liked this film. This is the only Indian film we have that we don't watch, at least parts of, over and over again.  Om Shanti Om (2-disc Collector`s Edition) $12.89 I really enjoy Bollywood movies and this movie was fantastic!! My daughter and I really enjoyed it and it was SO funny and goofy... Great story line. |
