 Ready? OK! $24.95 I saw an amazing short film with the same title and same basic plot at the NC gay and lesbian movie festival 2009. I don't know the story behind this but despite the striking similarities, the directors are distinct and this "feature" movie despite being longer is very shallow compared with the short one. I felt cheated because I thought this was an augmented version of the short but it is a very diluted one. I stopped watching it after 20 or 30 minutes.  PEOPLE StyleWatch (1-year) $39.90 This offer beat what the magazine's publisher's best offer. If you like this magazine, why pay more than you have to? Good-o for Amazon!  Ok! First Celebrity News $152.49 I found an incredible deal on this magazine and thought I'd give it a try. Frankly, I'm not convinced it's worth the pennies I paid for it. The reason? Lots of advertisements, few stories, few exclusive photos, and what they do have is weak - even for a celebrity gossip mag! This is a weekly, so I expected it to be less than a monthly offering, but I'm left wondering why did they bother? "Just OK!" is probably being kind...  The OK Book $12.99 This book kind of frustrated me. It lists a ton of things the narrator isn't good at, and then insists that it's okay that said narrator isn't good at anything, and will eventually find *something* at which s/he is good. Kids are good at lots of things, not just one, and they should try to excel at things they're interested in. These are fun things! They should worry more about whether they are having fun than how "good" they are at it. I understand that not everyone is going to be great at everything, but they should still have fun and try, and every child is wonderful at lots of things! |
