During the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) they wove special fabrics made from tree bark and dyed them with grass seeds. Later the women became experts at beeswax and indigo dyeing. The Yao are noted for their magnificent cross-stitch embroidery which richly decorates their families? clothing. In Thailand there are approximately 55 000 Yao living in scattered villages as well as an estimated 10 000 refugees from Laos living in camps along the border. The characteristics of each village vary substantially but generally they are found on low hills and in mountainous valleys with dense forests - areas rich in wildlife and natural resources.

I first had this as a kid in the mid 80s in vinyl form, and it's still one of my favorite albums. While I grew to like their later releases, I never felt they topped their debut. If you're reading this review, you probably already know 'Life In a Northern Town'...it, and 'This World' and 'The Party' are my personal favorites.

This German made product is as tough as its heavier metal competitors. I now have 6 of these Bruder products at my home and have purchased another three for grandsons. When my grandsons visit, these are the first toys they drag out and play with during their entire stay. Many moving parts but yet very durable.
