![]() Be Not Nobody $13.98 I don't understand what people say about poor melodies or lyrics. This woman is genius, I can't think of a REAL artist nowadays that stays true to herself like she does. She's not pop, that's what I love about this album, it's so classy, and in some ways mysterious. All of the songs have musical accompanying that just makes the album better, like the awsome guitar in the sexy song Sway or the violins in A Thousand Miles. Her lyrics are just to real, they need some reflection to completely understand what she's singing, they are not weak lyrics. And about her singing, it may be true she doesn't have a powerful voice or a lot of vocal range, but it goes with what she writes, making it a very personal atmosphere that with her piano playing can make you fall in love with her or be scared of what you hear (Wanted and Papa). I think the reason some people don't like her album is just because it's a derivation and mixture of classic rock, and classical music, with some pop and gothic with it. A PERFECT album.. I just can't have enough of her, and she keeps getting better with her next albums. For my personal taste of course. ![]() Goodnight Nobody: A Novel $15.00 Let me start by saying that I'm generally a fan of Jennifer Weiner books. I loved Good in Bed & In Her Shoes. So it is with much disappointment that I have to say I didn't care for this one at all. The plot was disjointed - particularly at the end. Did she leave her husband or decide to work it out? No idea. The character development wasn't the greatest & I had trouble keeping track of some of the names. So when you come to the murderess, I was racking my brain trying to figure out who that was. I just felt like this book was rushed together without as much thought and care as some of her other books. I wouldn't recommend this one. |
