![]() How to Save the World and Find True Love in 90 Minutes $14.95 I saw this play at The New York City Fringe Festival and it was one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. Frantic, mad-cap humour mixed with satire and parody. Any fans of Monty Python, The Blackadder, Howard Ashman & Alan Menken, or Fred Allen will feel right at home! In a vain attempt to impress an alluring diplomat at The UN, Miles Muldoon gets pummelled by melons by protesting fruit pickers from Guatemala. The blow on the head gives him the ability to read minds and he discovers a plot by the fiendish terrorist He (played by the same actor) to disrupt The UN, as well as the collusion of those involved. Michael McEachran is like a young Danny Kaye, bouncing between 2 characters and sailing through lightning fast lyrics and constant slap-stick. After seeing the show I got a copy of the early cast recording titled, "I Know What You're Thinking" which featured enough dialogue to keep the context of the story moving along and also featured numbers removed or replaced by the time I saw a production. I am quite eager to hear this newer recording and am sorry I missed it's official Off-Broadway run. ![]() The Anna Nicole Show - The First Season $19.98 I wish I'd been a fan of this show when she was still living. I have a new respect for her...and The Stern! I really enjoyed this box set. They are sooo funny....making fun of Bobby Trendy! "Daniel, Hand me my Chappelles"...LOL!!! Stern really cuts loose on here and in some moments, he makes sly remarks to Anna...which wasn't cool. I think he was her mooching friend hanging around for her $$, but that's a whole other topic. But he and Trendy are real characters!!! I heard their was a Season 2 but haven't seen it on DVD. I'd surely like to get it though!!! |
