I was highly dissappointed. The issues presented in this book only show the level of altered media coverage. I feel like Beth (purposely?) left out some important details about the Aruban government's help in finding this person. Furthermore, some of the "facts" described on the Dr Phil show have been researched and found to be altered. I would not trust a person that consciously agrees to alter media coverage in order to give false information to the public. This is the person that wrote this book.

The question this book raises is: if the Aruban government is called corrupt because of the case of this missing person, then what can we say about our own government corruption considering we have hundreds and thousands of such cases on a yearly, monthly, weekly basis? Should everyone in the world boycot US because of this?

It is unfair to the Aruban people. Furthermore, true facts dictate that the crime rate in Aruba is very low, much lower than USA and most islands in the Caribbean. My heart goes out to the Holloways, but also to the Aruban people who must feel betrayed and misrepresented. I hope the holloway family can get closure for this, and I also hope that they stop harming innocent people.

Don't get fooled by the cover of this book; nowhere is it clear how these "facts" or suppositions were acquired. If you want a good book waste no money on this one... Look elsewhere!

I enjoyed reading the book, but some of the things that the author hinged his analysis on, could be interpreted many ways. Another reviewer mentioned that English not being his native tongue, slips/verbiage could be attributed to that. That's true, but I guess one could also argue that maybe slips would be more readily apparent in someone not writing in their native tongue making his conduct more apparent in his words since he's not able to "weasel word" his explanations. But to me, the endorsements of the book/science were few and unknown. Perhaps this forensic science is still so new that we are just learning about it, or its a "junk science." Not sure, but I suggest the reader make his/her opinion. Certainly, profilers do look at writings for hints in a perp's psychological makeup, but whether it paints such a graphic and clear story is doubtful. Finally with the release of VanderSloot's covertly videotaped "confession" which I put more stake in, there was no mention of the K. brothers which makes one wonder.

This book was an easy read and only takes a day or two of your time but, is very interesting and "scary" about how the Aruban government operates and how corrupt it is. I found myself angry and heartbroken throughout this book. Natalee Holloway's dad Dave does a great job of being honest and open minded about what could have happened to his daughter. My heart goes out to his family. I had just gotten back from Aruba when I read this book and to be honest I am sort of glad I didn't read it before I went. I think everyone should read this book!!!!!

Having read the book and followed the case, I can attest that there is quite a bit of accuracy in this very recent film about the tragic case of Natalee Holloway. Sure, most of the acting is not so great, but Tracy Pollan is fantastic as Natalee's anguished and unstoppable mother, Beth, who will not give up in her quest to find out what happened to her daughter. The film even includes a reenactment of a recent, possible confession by the main suspect in the case. It works as a bookend.

Worth consideration.
