![]() FLO TV Personal Television PTV 350 $249.99 My parents bought one of these things for my TV-freak son this week, and I figured it was a download to watch TV shows type of device (like iTunes or Hulu) so I didn't pay much attention. However, I was blown away when I realized there was some live network TV on this thing! I was stuck in the car coming home from Thanksgiving dinner, and my son said the Longhorn - Aggie game was on (ESPN). I didn't belive him at first, but he was not kidding. I pulled over and made my wife drive, and my son and I watched the game togther in the back seat! Some of the news was live and current as well. How do they do this? This thing is like cable TV in your pocket. It worked all the way across town. And you can even read the little sports ticker and stuff. I was so blown away, I had to say something. By the way UT won! Go Horns! ![]() Original Television Christmas Classics Sing-A-Long $7.49 This was the first introduction to these Christmas Special music for my 2 yo and 4 yo. They both loved it and asked to see it again and again. It brought back memories for my husband and me when these were (are) aired on TV. It is a great introduction to these great songs. Just wished that "Heat Miser" or any from "The Year Without a Santa Claus" were included. Great collection none the less. ![]() Dexter: Music From the Television Series $18.98 The Blood theme haunts me and i love it for that. It remindes me of things like the 2nd track, where Dexter talks about tonight beig the night and just how the world works. I also love the main theme and find it playing in my mind, and one good episode makes me want to hear more. That is why i took this little baby home and why I put it directly on the downloader and fed it to my brain. Here I am now, Season 4 speaking tongues as I try to crack its cypher, and I love it. I want to put it in my mind why i try and crack the Trinity mystery. Aisde from these reasons to buy are also other peices of music that are used in the shows. Each one is easily known by watchers of the series, and people who do not watch may still find the music great. some of it has an almost humor-filled way about the way it carries itself, and other pieces have other tastes that make me think of a spectrum of human emotion. Its as if fear and rage and terrible little baubles of night have been collected and put into tracks that echo like fright when I hear them. and i like that - i find that i like it more and more each and every day. If you like Dexter, you should like the soundtrack. It has the things you know and some you might think of in clips, plus it has additions that I did not tihnk of at first. Added to this is the feeling it captures, making feel certain that people who haven't seen the seasons would like songs like The Blood theme. If you do not know what side of the proverbial fence you sit on, simply click on the tracks and try them on for size. You are, after all, the thing that reviews are amined at and the one critic that really matters. As far as i'm concerned, thgis is a must buy for myself and other fan(atics?) attached to the series. ![]() Schoolhouse Rock Songbook $15.95 It has all the songs you would expect, but the style of the songs written doesn't translate well into piano music. They did do a good job however in making this song book. -dave |
